On the 1st September, during one of my shifts at the basketball arena, the camera showed the fans on the big screen. I seen people with an Irish flag and thought 'I gotta meet these guys', so I was coming back from my break and a guy on a wheelchair was going back to his seat after buying tea for him and his friends, so I offered to carry them up for him. Turns out he was from Lisburn, (For all you that are unsure of where that is, it is a 20 minute drive from where I live in Northern Ireland), and the people he was with were the ones on the big screen! Small world eh?
My second day in the Basketball Arena was amazing. I was exhausted, however, during my shift, someone stopped me in the street, handed me an innocent smoothie and said, 'this will keep you going, thanks for making London 2012'. What an incredible person!
